1. What the service is
The Monastic Pint is a free website offering verbatim, cited quotations from public-domain Christian writings. Every quotation shows its source. There are no accounts, no payments, and no AI-generated content.
2. What it is not
The Monastic Pint is not pastoral counsel, spiritual direction, or professional advice. It is not a substitute for your own study or for guidance from your church or clergy.
3. The quotations
Quotations are taken word for word from public-domain sources. We cite the source of each one. We do not claim authorship of these texts.
We take care to quote accurately, but errors can happen, such as typos, wrong citations, or misattributions. If you find one, email support@monasticpint.com and we will review it. For anything important, verify the quotation against the cited source.
Public-domain works come from different eras. Their views and language may differ from yours and from each other. A quotation shows what that writer said. It does not mean the site or its operator endorses every view in it.
4. Email lists
You may sign up for either or both of two free email lists: a daily quote email, and a one-time launch notice for a possible question tool. You choose each list separately.
We send the emails you chose. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We do not sell, share, or rent your information to third parties. We may pause or stop the emails at any time.
5. Question box
The site may have a box where you can type a question. We store what you type, and your email if you gave it, to learn what people want. Typing a question does not guarantee an answer or a reply. Do not enter sensitive personal information.
6. Acceptable use
Do not scrape, crawl, or bulk download the site's content. Do not resell or republish the material. Do not circumvent security measures including Cloudflare Turnstile bot protection.
7. Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics to measure site usage; visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are asked for consent first. See our Privacy Policy. The Monastic Pint is ad-supported. Google AdSense may use cookies to serve personalized ads. You can control your ad preferences at Google Ad Settings.
8. Early product and changes
The Monastic Pint is young. Features will change, and we may modify or discontinue the service with notice. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED AS IS AND AS AVAILABLE, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY ABOUT THE ACCURACY OF QUOTATIONS OR CITATIONS.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and your sole remedy for any dissatisfaction is to stop using the site.
10. Governing law and the rest
These terms are governed by the laws of Texas. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stands. These terms plus the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement.
